Review Summary
The Richa Infinity 3 Pro Pants strike a smart balance between touring performance and real-world comfort. Their AA-rated Cordura shell and laminated Aquashell waterproofing make them versatile enough for year-round riding, while the included thermal liner keeps you warm on cold days.
Ventilation via the Fidlock vent system works effectively, and overall build quality is excellent. For the price—around $350 USD—the Infinity 3 Pro Pants deliver premium construction and performance at a reasonable cost.
All-Season Comfort with Thermal Liner
I received the Infinity 3 Pro combo (jacket and pants) in early spring as one of Richa’s latest offerings. Having reviewed several Richa products over the past six years, I was eager to see how this top-tier model in the Infinity line would perform.
Tested on a Husqvarna Norden 901, the pants proved ideal for multi-season adventure touring. Their waterproof membrane, thermal liner, AA abrasion rating, and D3O armor made them an excellent companion through variable spring weather.

With a new U.S. distributor, Richa continues to grow its North American presence. Special thanks to Michael at Richa USA and the team in Belgium for providing the Infinity 3 Pro Pants for this review.

Construction & Design
Outer Shell
The Cordura fabric and reinforced panels in high-impact zones create a tough, abrasion-resistant structure. Stretch panels above and behind the knees and in the groin improve mobility and comfort.
-
Outer Shell: 100% Polyester
-
Lining: 100% Polyester
-
Membrane: 100% Polyester
Interior
A nylon mesh liner improves airflow and comfort during warm-weather rides.
Waistband
Dual Velcro adjusters allow fine-tuning, while the zipper closure with a double-hook and snap system adds security. The fly includes a backing layer to block wind and moisture—details that enhance real-world weather protection.
Pockets
Two front waterproof zippered pockets are deep and functional, though the absence of cargo pockets may disappoint some adventure riders.
Visibility
Reflective accents are thoughtfully placed along the waist, thighs, and lower legs. The reflective bands are subtle in daylight but highly effective at night, ranking among the best I’ve tested in this category.
Branding
Branding is minimal, featuring reflective “Richa” text on the lower leg and waist, plus a small black “R” logo on the rear waistband.
Zippers
All zippers are weather-sealed and smooth-operating. Two connection zippers (short and 360°) allow pairing with a compatible jacket. The vent zippers feature mesh backing and Fidlock closures, which hold vents securely open during rides.
Color
Available in black only.
Thermal Liner
The included thermal liner adds serious versatility. It attaches at the waist with a single zipper and secures at the ankles with snaps and loops. It’s quick to install and remove—perfect for cold mornings or chilly evening rides.
Fit, Comfort & Sizing
The Infinity 3 Pro Pants are offered in regular, long, and short versions:
-
Men’s Short: M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL
-
Men’s Regular: S–6XL
-
Men’s Long: M–2XL
At 6’3″ with a 43″ hip and 34″ inseam, I typically wear an XL. According to Richa’s sizing chart, I opted for 2XL Tall, which proved perfect once the thermal liner and armor were added. Riders over six feet will appreciate the availability of tall sizes.
Comfort:
Even on longer rides, the Infinity 3 Pro Pants remained comfortable. Stretch panels in key areas reduce bulk and allow easy movement on and off the bike.
Adjustability:
-
Velcro waist straps
-
Adjustable calf and hem closures
-
Three-position knee armor pockets
These allow for a custom, snug fit that accommodates both slim and athletic builds, as well as bulky riding boots.
Functionality & Performance
Waterproofing
The Aquashell membrane—laminated into the outer shell—delivers strong waterproofing comparable to higher-end systems like GORE-TEX, at a more affordable price point.
During a one-hour ride in steady rain, the pants stayed completely dry. Just ensure the vents are closed to maintain full waterproof integrity.
Breathability & Ventilation
The Fidlock thigh vents work brilliantly, using magnetic hooks to keep panels open for optimal airflow. Additional zippered vents at the lower leg add minor cooling but are less effective due to their placement. Overall, ventilation is above average for laminated pants.
Protection
While the Infinity 3 Pro Pants deliver AA-rated abrasion resistance, they come with D3O CE Level 1 armor in the knees and hips—adequate for most touring, but not as protective as Level 2 armor found in some rivals.
Certification Overview (EN 17092-3:2020):
-
AAA: Highest level
-
AA: Ideal for touring
-
A: Urban riding
-
B: Lacks impact protectors
-
C: Impact-only garments (base layers)
Included Armor:
-
Knee: EN1621-1:2012 / KES Type A / Level 1
-
Hip: EN1621-1:2012 / H Type A / Level 1
While Level 1 armor meets safety requirements, upgrading to D3O Level 2 would improve impact absorption and is recommended for riders tackling longer or more demanding trips.
Care & Maintenance
To maintain performance:
-
Wipe with a damp cloth for regular cleaning
-
For deeper cleaning, remove armor and wash by hand or machine, then air dry
-
Allow to drip dry if soaked in rain
Refer to Richa’s official care guide for detailed washing instructions.
Warranty
Richa offers a 2-year warranty covering jackets, pants, gloves, boots, and accessories. For details, visit Richa Warranty online.
Final Thoughts
Riding pants are often overlooked—but they shouldn’t be. After spending an entire season with the Richa Infinity 3 Pro Pants, they’ve become a staple in my gear lineup.
They eliminate the need for separate rain pants, handle temperature swings with ease, and deliver real comfort on the bike. Whether it’s the laminated waterproofing, solid D3O protection, or clever vent system, these pants feel purpose-built for touring and commuting alike.
Their only shortcoming is the Level 1 armor, which can be upgraded. Otherwise, they’re a fantastic all-season choice for riders seeking durability, flexibility, and protection—without paying premium Gore-Tex prices.
I’ll be wearing the Richa Infinity 3 Pro Pants on my upcoming group ride—no question about it.
